Join local ceramic artist Crystal Nykoluk and dive into the world of sculptural clay while creating your own set of functional pots. In this four-week mini course, you’ll learn the basics of handbuilding with clay slabs and explore sculpting textures inspired by your own ideas and surroundings. Along the way you’ll discover how to combine function and sculpture to create unique, personal pieces that are both beautiful and usable. Leave this mini course with a set of your very own unique mugs or cups. $280 All supplies included - clay, tools, glazing and firing.

Our Bigs and Littles looked at how artists represent flowers in their work this week.
We created this sweet bouquet as a celebration of the blooms we’re (hopefully) soon to see! A little premature, perhaps, but fun nonetheless! 💐

How to make a Quilt block! With the incredible @meghanmast on March 29th from 1-4pm

In this foundational course you’ll learn how to make a quilt block with half-squares. The first step in making your own cozy quilt. Once you know how to make a half-square, you can make multiple different designs. For this workshop some basic sewing experience is required. But no quilting experience is necessary. We’ll supply the thread, fabric, irons, cutting mats and rotary cutters, but please bring your own sewing machine.

February rules!
Here’s just a tiny glimpse into the last few weeks.
With a blend of important events, dates, and more we found ourselves celebrating a lot! For Black History Month we looked at incredible Black artists like Alma Thomas, and afrofuturism through the inspiring work of Bodys Isek Kingelez.
We celebrated Valentines Day with love birds and salad spinner hearts, the Olympics by creating ceramic gold medals, and the Year of the Horse for Chinese New Year by drawing, painting and sculpting!
And we held this quote by Louis Riel in our hearts “My people will sleep for one hundred years, but when they awake, it will be the artists who give them their spirit back.”
What a lovely month! 💖

Here’s just a tiny glimpse into the last few weeks.

Over the course of 3 weeks (Feb 22, 2026 - Mar 8) you will learn basic and more advanced embroidery techniques. We’ll focus on 2D stitches, and will expand into some 3 dimensional elements as well.

Monday March 30th is Painted Paper Flowers- Paint, cut and assemble a flower bouquet! Make them larger than life, and finish off your creations with all sorts of doo-dads, glitter and gems.

Tuesday March 31st is Painting!- A great workshop to explore all the ways to make a painting!

Wednesday April 1st is Treehouse Sculpture- Design your own mini treehouse! Use all sorts of different materials to build your dream play structure/tree house!

Thursday April 2nd is Plaster Cast Animals- Design and build your own animal head! This wall sculpture is 3 dimensional, made from cardboard, tin foil, tape and an outer layer of plaster cast! In this workshop kids will be able to build the animal heads and paint them ready to take home.

(under 12 must be accompanied by an adult)

In this 10 week long course you’ll learn how to make art in a tandem setting with your 6-12 year old. We’ll cover a wide array of media from a contemporary art perspective. Classes are on Wednesdays 6:30-8 and
one registration covers a grown up and child.

We had so much fun with this creative group of young artists!
When you book a birthday party with us, we listen to what inspires the Birthday VIP, and design a custom craft for them. This VIP loved KPop Demon Hunters and animals, so we each made our own unique Derpy Tigers. We learned colour blending and mixed media techniques while listening to the movie’s soundtrack. It was so a blast!

One year ago Jill hosted a holiday party and we talked about how dreamy it would be to open an art studio (as an extension of Art With Jill) in the old H&R block that was up for lease on Henderson, a few blocks away.
We went to view it on a whim a few weeks later, and things went into warp drive. We fell in love with it, whipped up a business plan which we submitted 48 hour later and just like that dreams became reality! ✨
Thank you for all of your support and encouragement along the way. We truly have the best Neighbours!
